Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Advanced Industry Promotion (Chuncheon, Wonju, Gangneung Focused)
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has been focusing on the tourism industry due to its regional characteristics of having many mountains and coasts, but we will look into the contents for responding to population decline and revitalizing the local economy.
The plan for high-speed railway and road construction in the province is to be completed in the first and second half of 2025, and the goal is to gradually realize it as a global city with future cutting-edge industries such as bio, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI) based on the transportation network as construction is completed.
1). The Corporate Innovation Park will be built on an area of 3.68 million m2 in Gwangpan-ri, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon, and a project cost of 936.4 billion won will be invested until 2033.
Gangwon Province has a Corporate Innovation City in Wonju, and this time, it plans to build an industrial and residential complex city (more than 350 companies) with private companies moving into Chuncheon.
2). A bio triangle belt will be created with Chuncheon (Hongcheon), Wonju, and Gangneung as the axes. The Chuncheon/Hongcheon Bio Specialized Complex gathers bio companies to create a cluster that carries out everything from research and development to raw material supply and finished product exports, and is a specialized complex with three axes in cooperation with the Wonju Enterprise City and Gangneung Bio Complex.
3). The project to establish a digital healthcare national innovation cluster centered on the Wonju Enterprise Innovation City is also in progress, and it will be possible to build a regional new growth cluster through fostering new industries and activating investment due to its geographical proximity to Yeongdong in Wonju and the inland central expressway.
