1 Introduction to Sungnimsa Temple.
Oeam Folk Village is a village designated as an Important Folk Cultural Property (No. 236) by the state,
and about 60 traditional houses, including upper-class houses and commoner houses, well preserve the rural appearance of the central region in the late Joseon Dynasty.
The village was formed about 500 years ago, and is south-facing, with mountains and rivers facing back and waters facing east and west, and was selected as one of the 10 best villages to live in in Korea.
The residents are descendants of their ancestors who have lived there for generations, and most of them are engaged in agriculture,
and live while preserving traditional culture.
In order to preserve traditional culture and provide things to see and experience for visitors, the village holds a Daebobom Welcome Event and Jangseung Festival every January,
and a Straw Festival themed on agricultural culture in October, and a Dongji Event in November.
In addition, the Experience Council (Agricultural Cooperative) offers various activities such as Hanok Minbak Experience, farming experience, and food experience.
In addition, in front of the village, there is a market called Jejatgeori, which is a market from the Joseon Dynasty, where you can enjoy various foods and performances, and buy local specialties.
