The best refreshing beer

Beer is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in Korea along with soju and makgeolli. The raw material barley (hops) has a cold element, so it is considered to be a northerly direction in the five elements and a summer season, making it a refreshing drink.

Alcohol is something that goes into people's mouths, so it can be considered a type of food, and is affected by the Food Sanitation Act and the Food Code. However, alcohol is unique in that it is affected by the Liquor Tax Act in terms of taxes, manufacturing, and sales. Similarly, salt is subject to the Salt Industry Act, and bottled water is subject to separate laws such as the Drinking Water Management Act.

Small-scale factories or home-brewed beers that they produce uniquely have become popular since the Liquor Tax Act was changed (ad valorem tax), but they have not been well-received so far. I think it is because they lack the ability to create a distinctive beer taste.

Freshly brewed beer foams even without adding carbon dioxide. This is because of yeast. When yeast breaks down the starch in barley, ethanol and carbon dioxide are produced. If the container is sealed well, the carbon dioxide dissolves in the alcohol and forms carbonic acid. Of course, the development of sealing and refrigeration technology is historically very recent, so the history of beer becoming a carbonated beverage is not that long.

In Germany, it is said that people began to drink it after processing it like beer because it is difficult to drink it as it is because the water that people can drink is extracted from limestone.

Depending on where it is fermented during manufacturing, beer is classified into top and bottom fermentation. Generally, lager series uses bottom fermentation method and ale series uses top fermentation method.

The manufacturing process of lager beer, which is a bottom fermentation product, can be largely divided into 7 stages, and yeast is said to be added in the 6th fermentation stage.

1. Malt production: Grains (barley, wheat, etc.) are germinated to make malt, and during the germination process, enzymes are produced to break down starch into sugar.

2. Saccharification: This malt is dissolved in hot water and saccharified, and malt sugar is created in this process.

3. Filtration: The saccharified liquid is filtered to remove malt and impurities.

4. Boiling: The wort is boiled to sterilize and hops are added to create a bitter taste and aroma.

5. Cooling: The boiled wort is rapidly cooled to a temperature where yeast can be active.

6. Fermentation: The cooled wort is fermented with fermentation yeast, which breaks down the sugar and creates alcohol and carbon dioxide.

7. Maturation: The fermented beer is matured for 4 to 6 weeks to create a harmonious taste and aroma.

In the lager beer manufacturing process, yeast addition is important, and it is said that the taste and aroma of the beer greatly differ depending on the type of yeast, amount added, point of addition, fermentation temperature, and period.

webpage: The best refreshing beer

The refreshing taste of beer is like a pearl necklace around a pig's neck, but the foam subsides after a while, so it is like injecting carbon dioxide into draft beer to be wary of truth rather than pretense.

Scooping up well water with a gourd

The Northern Hemisphere where I live is now past winter and the spring equinox.

Today is a windy and quite cold day.

They say that when the wind blows on the outside temperature, the perceived temperature drops and you feel colder.

When the wind blows and brings cold, if you think about it in terms of Eastern humanities, it reminds me of a well that pumps up groundwater and uses it as drinking water.

As a well, it must have a wooden bucket with a long rope that touches the bottom of the water to pump up the well water.

In some cases, the rope on the bucket is too short to reach the water and you cannot pump up the water.

Nowadays, there are no cases of pumping up groundwater using a pump like in the old days when there were no water supply facilities, and there are even fewer cases of pumping up well water by lowering the bucket.

When you are in trouble, seeing the light outside the tunnel means you have come to the end of the tunnel, and when you ask how far you are from the summit while climbing a mountain, saying “It’s right there” encourages you, meaning that you should not give up because you can see the results right away.

An old proverb says, “A town can be moved, but a well cannot be moved. It does not decrease or increase. You drink the water from the well as you go. If you reach the point where it is almost useless, it is also like not putting a bucket in the well. If you break this bucket, it will be bad.”

Water is the life-giving water necessary for human life, so it must be managed well. On the other hand, if you look at the Seolgwaejeon, it means danger, so if you manage it well and overcome it, you will be able to achieve your desired goal.

The current international political and economic reality may seem bleak and daunting, but if you put in a little more effort and wait, you can release the clear and cool water from the well into the bucket.

At this point, the only problem is that it takes time for the bucket to come down and scoop out the water.

Yeosu Hyangil-am (Temple) where the mind and body become calm

1 Introduction to Sungnimsa Temple.

The sunrise over the southern sea horizon is spectacular, so it is called Hyangil-am, and the surrounding rocks are shaped like a turtle's back, so it is also called Yeongu-am.

Many people come to Hyangil-am every year to see the sunrise to welcome the new year.

Many people from all over the country, including Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, come to send their hopes and send them up to the sky with the rising sun.

The road to Hyangil-am across Dolsandaegyo Bridge, which boasts a more beautiful night view, is beautiful.

Hyangil-am, one of the four major Guanyin prayer halls in Korea, is located at the end of Dolsando Island.

It is a hermitage founded by Wonhyo Daesa during the reign of Queen Seondeok during the Silla Dynasty under the name of Wontongam.

The sunrise rising from the horizon of the South Sea is so beautiful that in the 41st year of King Sukjong’s reign (1715) during the Joseon Dynasty, Inmok Daesa named it Hyangilam, which has remained until today.

After passing the parking lot with a direct view of the sea, you climb the stone steps that are almost 40 degrees incline, and then climb again, and you will come across tree leaves that cover the sky in green.

The freshness that sparkles in the sunlight adds to the mystery of Hyangilam.

When your legs start to hurt a little, the stone gate (stone gate) leading to Hyangilam blocks your way.

You can see that it is a stone gate that you can only pass by by lowering your body and bowing your head toward the sky.

The path to Buddha. The path to greet the sunrise with a new mind may be a story about learning humility.

After passing through the first stone gate like a gate of liberation, where sunlight as thin as a handkerchief seeps in, you climb the stone steps again, and you are met with Geumosan Mountain behind you and the blue sea and sky of Dolsan Mountain in front. This is a bonus of traveling that can only be obtained here.

What is the relationship between the constitution and the five elements?

Summer should be hot like summer, and winter should be cold like winter, but because we pursue comfort too much, we end up wearing long-sleeved clothes in summer and turning on the air conditioner in winter, which goes against the environment, and naturally causes problems for our bodies.

😅☝

When it's hot, people with large bodies tend to take in more external heat than those with large surface areas, which makes them less susceptible to the heat.

- If we match the four constitutions and the five elements, I think the right side is the Taeyangin - Fire, Taeeumin - Water, Soyangin - Metal, and Soeumin - Wood. (In the 72nd chapter of the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, the Tongcheon chapter, the human body types were added to the above 4 types, yin-yang harmony and peace, but today's Sasang theory is that Comrade Lee Je-ma divides the 4 types, excluding yin-yang harmony and peace.)

- Also, if you exclude the characteristic earth from the 5 elements of the East and the Western 4 constitutions distinguished by Hippocrates, they are identical. (Blood type; Sanguine-fire, Choleric-wood, Black bile; Melancholic-water, Phlegmatic-metal)

- People studying blood types can also see it as follows.

Type A-wood, Type B-water Type O-fire, Type AB-water

- In the ten gods of fortune-telling, if you exclude the characteristic earth from the ten gods and exclude the cowardice that corresponds to me, it is as follows. Food - Wood, Jaeseong - Metal, Gwanseong - Fire, Inseong - Water

The method of assigning constitution to the five elements is

For example, Taeyangin is big, has a loud voice, and is full of heat. Therefore, it is considered fire.

In Feng Shui, fire is sharp and triangular energy, so when viewed as an upward energy, there is no big problem.

Of course, Taeyangin is small in the lungs and small in the liver, so it can be considered as gold (because the liver is small, it becomes gold-restricted wood, and the lungs overcome the liver), but this is how I see it.

The other five elements are okay, but it is a little difficult to see Soyangin as wood or gold.

This will require a lot of experience and verification.

Soyangin - Gold rising energy Bi-daesinso---1 6

So-eumin - Wood converging energy Sin-daesinso---3 8

Taeyangin - Fire radiating energy Lung-daesinso---2 7

Tae-eumin - Water descending energy Gan-daesinso---4 9

This should also be presented with empirical data, not theory.

It is not appropriate to divide human constitutions into four like this, and I think Dr. Kwon Do-won's eight constitutions are more appropriate (I don't know directly, but when I've seen people, I've tried to divide them into four, and it's because of the need for more detailed division.)🌞🌞

If you assign the above four constitutions to the five elements (the content is the same as the four phases of the Book of Changes), anyone with a little knowledge of yin and yang and the five elements will understand.

It can also be applied to dividing the human body into constitutions and treating diseases such as obesity that are talked about. However, obesity is not solved by simply controlling the amount of food. In Western medicine, it can be treated with surgical operations, but in Eastern medicine, it can be maintained by improving the constitution and eating and exercising according to the constitution.

However, it is a very dangerous idea to say exactly what constitution you have because it denies the rest. ..

Therefore, it is better if you lean towards one side (if possible, it can be expressed as a percentage).

This is because your lifestyle and pattern should be different depending on this bias.

This is more accurate to express it as which side is closer, other than scientifically expressed things like blood type.

This is because the treatment method for people who are already unhealthy or sick can be different.

Protecting Nature and the Environment

We live in a world with limited resources, and we have a responsibility to protect nature and preserve the environment, as we are using resources in advance for our descendants.

The various natural environmental disasters of today cannot be free from human intervention.

It takes a long time to restore the environment once it has been damaged, and it is difficult to estimate how many decades it will take for the natural restoration of the area around the Fukushima nuclear power plant caused by the Japanese earthquake.

In the sky, we are anxious about when and where used satellite debris will fall, and on the ground, all kinds of industrial waste emits a foul odor. To make matters worse, industrially advanced countries are unable to process their industrial waste, so they export it to African countries such as Ghana and Bongo.

To this end, the United Nations held a conference on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, such as through climate agreements, but it seems that the results were not as expected due to the work of countries with vested interests.

In this way, recognizing the seriousness of our natural environment that we are borrowing from our descendants but not establishing countermeasures can be seen as a dulling of the senses to the convenience that comes with industrialization.

This reminds me of the story of a certain chef who enjoyed the thrill of tasting blowfish poison by gradually increasing the amount, but at one point ended up dying from ingesting a fatal amount.

We need to minimize our impact on the environment in advance so that we can laugh later, but this is the opposite of the meaning of 'laugh first and cry later', and it can be said to have the same meaning as the opposite of 'you cry first when you face difficulties, but you laugh later'.

As such, the meaning of the main character's story about one fact is too difficult for ordinary people to understand.

Water diet method, risk, and principle

Obesity has a great impact on the health of the body, and it is no exaggeration to say that one has to diet for the rest of one's life.

Therefore, various methods are being sought to create a healthy constitution, but in the end, it seems that there is no other way than diet control and exercise.

According to Laozi's Tao Te Ching, water flows and benefits all things, but does not fight, and ends up in places that people dislike (Chapter 8), and as can be seen in Chapter 78, it does not put itself forward and goes with the flow of the world, so it is certain that using water is also one of the good methods.

Actor Lee Jang-woo appeared on MBC's 'I Live Alone' and fasted for 3 days with only salt water and water, and he is also well aware of the case of singer IU.

Let's find out how to lose weight with water and its meaning.

1. Function of water in the human body

Water accounts for about 70% of the earth's surface and over 80% of the human body, and plays various roles such as helping to dissolve and absorb nutrients and maintaining body temperature.

Also, in nature, it flows as free water in oceans and lakes, but in the human body, it is mainly included in the blood and circulates, or is combined with nutrients, and especially, it is often combined with fat.

2. Water fasting, diet method

Water diet is a method of consistently drinking 3L of water a day for 6 days, and only consuming water and salt without eating any other food.

It is a method used by models or celebrities who need it urgently, such as for performances or photo shoots, rather than by ordinary people.

It can help with rapid weight loss and removal of swelling, but since you only drink water without eating anything, you need to adjust your diet appropriately before and after.

- Drink the amount of water you set for yourself (2 to 3L) a day, but if it is difficult, you can drink 0-calorie water with flavor.

- Drinking a glass of water before a meal makes you feel full, so you eat less.

- Water is better absorbed when you drink it slowly and frequently rather than all at once.

3. Why water fasting is dangerous

This method, known as water fasting, is a method of losing weight by only consuming water and salt during the fast, so it is not a suitable method because it only maintains the minimum lifespan.

General fasting should be done for a maximum of 3 days, and you should not eat regular food right after fasting. You should start with clear liquid food and slowly change to soft food and regular food.

Long-term water fasting is said to be a dangerous condition that can lead to malnutrition, anemia, hair loss, muscle loss, osteoporosis, eating disorders, depression, and even death.

It is effective because you only consume water without nutrients, but the yo-yo effect and water intoxication can occur.

Here, water intoxication refers to the symptoms of intoxication that occur due to excessive water intake over a short period of time, which lowers blood sodium concentration and increases intracellular water content. Edema and seizures may occur, and in severe cases, it is a fatal intoxication condition that can lead to death.

During fasting, drinking mineral water instead of regular water or taking nutritional supplements is not very helpful, and proper diet and exercise amounts are necessary.

Low body weight, nutritional imbalance, and hormonal imbalance due to excessive weight loss can cause osteoporosis even in young people in their 20s and 30s. This increases the risk of developing sarcopenia and cardiovascular disease, so it is best to maintain a normal weight, although it is good to look beautiful.

4. Principle of Weight Loss

It is true that fasting, which involves not eating food and only drinking water, is a dangerous method, and weight loss through water can be fatal to health as it can lead to water intoxication. In order to lose weight or improve health, it is necessary to have the mindset of putting out more than you take in rather than taking extreme methods such as fasting.

If you are to implement the maximal proposition of putting out more than you take in, that is, Output > Input, then the best method is to eat appropriate food and consume more energy through exercise, etc.

Pohang Homigot(cape) Sangsaengui Hand

 1 Introduction to Pohang Homigot.

This is the place where the Korean Sunrise Festival, which started on January 1, 2000, is held every year.

Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, spent 12.4 billion won to create a space that contains the history of the start of the new millennium, the peaceful unification of the country, and the future orientation and symbolism of the new millennium.

Many tourists visit for various sunrise events such as the 2000 New Millennium Korean Sunrise Festival, the production of the largest soccer ball in the country in 2002, the 10,000-person rice cake soup making experience event in 2004, and the production of a giant Taegeukgi to wish for the success of the 2006 Germany World Cup.

On a site of 13,920 pyeong, there are the Hand of Mutual Growth, the torch stand, the Eyes of a Thousand Years, and the Yeonorang Seonyeo statue.

The Hand of Mutual Growth has the left hand on land and the right hand on the sea, and was created with the intention of all citizens helping each other as we welcome the new millennium.

In front of the left hand on land is a torch symbolizing the sun and coexistence.

The Millennium Eye is a sunlight collector that converts the infrared rays of sunlight into heat.

The embers in the Millennium Eye contain the last ember of the 20th century collected from the Byeonsan Peninsula, the embers of the Earth collected from Fiji in the South Pacific, the embers of the Zumen Sea collected from Dokdo, and the embers of the new millennium collected from Homigot, which are the embers of eternity.

The Yeonorang Seonyeo statue was erected to commemorate Yeongilman, the setting of the story.

It is said that the rock that Yeonorang rode rose from here.

There is a rape flower field at the entrance to the plaza, and the rape flowers bloom in full bloom every year around April to May.

In addition, there are many things to see around the plaza, such as Korea's first National Lighthouse Museum and a wind turbine that utilizes the strong sea breeze of Homigot.

The true value of the Book of Changes as a story of the world

1. Humanities

I dare say that the Book of Changes is ultimately a discipline that allows a small person to become a great person or a gentleman.

How much are we swayed by our surroundings in the real world? Comparing ourselves to others, trying to have more material things, or not being able to control our greed...

A small person can be said to be a narrow-minded person who only cares about himself, does not care about others, and only thinks about personal interests, while a great person can be said to be a person who, from a Mahayana perspective, strives for the common good and for everyone to move forward together in a better direction.

As seen in the Book of Changes, the ancient era in which Fuxi, the creator of the Book of Changes, lived was an agricultural society, and as seen in the various social aspects, we can see that it gradually progressed from human desire to have.

Therefore, for those of us who live in a modern materialistic society and want to pursue better material things, this Book of Changes is by no means a helpful book.

Of course, some important passages are helpful in pursuing current management strategies or life strategies. (Lee Geon-hu, Yong-jeung Ma Jang-gil, Lee In Dong-sim Gi-ridan-geum, etc.)

2. Classical Thought

Even after the Middle Ages, when we see injustice, such as the examples of the righteous army leaders during the Imjin War, Jo Sik-seon-saeng, and Toegye Seon-saeng, the attitude of not tolerating it and trying to correct it is the true meaning and attitude of people like us who learn the Book of Changes.

In the Book of Changes, there is no passage that says to have a lot of wealth or to rise to a high position. There is no such content in the words of Confucius, who wrote the Ten Wings.

When you want to have more material things or live a better life than others, this attitude of greatness will never help.

How can we interpret the fact that the largest software company in India, Group, uses a large portion of its profits to help others, and the more it does, the more profits it makes?

Because you can take more by sharing and distributing your abilities and knowledge than by holding on to what you have and trying to protect what you have.

3. Conclusion

Of course, many people say that this content should be enough to protect yourself. However, it is said in the Buddhist scriptures that a single candle from a widow is a greater offering than a million candles from a rich man.

How much study and training do we need to do to realize this meaning?

The more difficult thing is that it takes a lot of time and training to spread these ideas and knowledge.

If this can help our society and group develop further and help everyone lead a happy life, then as a student/student of the Book of Changes, we can feel great joy and it can also be the ultimate purpose of studying the Book of Changes.

Dorisa Temple, the Birthplace of Buddhism in Silla.

1 Introduction to Sungnimsa Temple.

Dorisa Temple was first established by Ado Hwasang, a Goguryeo monk, during the reign of King Nulji (417), the 19th king of Silla, to spread Buddhism in Silla, where there was no Buddhism, and is known as the birthplace of Buddhism and the first temple in Silla.

Dorisa Temple is located in Naengsan, Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and although the exact date of its founding is unknown, it is said to be the first temple in Silla.

This temple is related to Ado Hwasang, who appears in the legend when Buddhism was first introduced to Silla.

It is said that while Adoga was traveling to find a place to practice Buddhism, he saw peach blossoms (Do) and plum blossoms (Ri) in full bloom even in the middle of winter, and he knew it was a good place. He built a temple there and named it Dorisa. Dorisa is a temple where temple stays are available, and many domestic and foreign tourists visit to experience traditional temple practice.
